- Introduction — This Privacy Policy explains how Wild Womb collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our mobile app, website, and related services (the Platform). Wild Womb is a childbirth education and community platform for birthing parents and their partners. Because we handle sensitive information about your pregnancy, family, and identity, we take your privacy seriously. By using the Platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
- Who This Policy Covers — This policy applies to families who use our app, certified providers who use our vendor portal, and visitors to our website. Some information is shared between a birthing parent and a linked partner, and with providers whose courses you access, as described below.
- Information You Provide During Onboarding — When you create an account, we collect the information you share in our onboarding questionnaire, including your role as a birthing parent or partner, your pronouns and identity language, your stage such as trying to conceive, pregnancy, postpartum, or surrogacy, your estimated due date, your baby gender preference, and any special circumstances you choose to share, such as twins, a planned C-section, prior loss, or a NICU journey. You choose what to share, and this information is used to personalize your experience.
- Sensitive and Health-Related Information — Wild Womb is designed around your pregnancy and parenting journey, so much of what you share relates to your health, body, and family. This includes your stage and due date, journal entries, milestone and bump photos, and the communities you join, some of which relate to sensitive experiences like pregnancy loss or NICU care. We treat this information with extra care and use it to provide the Platform’s features. Wild Womb is an education and community platform and does not provide medical care, so the information you log is not a medical record.
- Account and Contact Information — We collect your name, email address, phone number, password, and profile details. You can create an account with your email or by using Apple or Google sign-in, and we verify your account with a one-time passcode (OTP) sent by SMS or email. If you use social sign-in, we receive basic profile information from that provider and do not receive your social account password.
- Content You Create — We collect the content you create on the Platform, including posts, comments, reactions, direct messages, journal entries, saved items, registry items, and photos you upload. Some content, such as journals and direct messages, is private to you or to the people you share it with, and our app applies screenshot and screen-recording protection to community feeds, direct messages, and journals.
- Partner and Family Information — Wild Womb offers dual access, so a birthing parent and a partner can each have their own login connected to a shared journey. If you invite or link a partner, some information, such as shared saved folders, co-authored journals, and journey data you choose to share, is visible to that person. You control partner data sharing in your privacy settings.
- Payment and Subscription Information — User subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play billing systems, and web-based purchases such as physical books are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Providers manage their subscriptions through our web portal using Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card details. We receive limited transaction information needed to manage your subscription, purchases, payouts, and refunds.
- Information Collected Automatically — When you use the Platform, we automatically collect standard technical and usage data, such as device type, operating system, app version, activity within the app, and general diagnostics. This helps us operate, secure, and improve the Platform.
- How We Use Your Information — We use your information to create and manage accounts, personalize your content feed and communities, provide education, tools, journaling, registry, and messaging features, verify users and providers, process subscriptions and orders, send notifications you have chosen, support safety and content moderation, calculate and report our foundation contribution, respond to support requests, improve the Platform, and meet legal obligations.
- Notifications — With your permission, we send notifications by push, in-app alert, email, and SMS, including social activity, educational suggestions, reminders, order and subscription updates, and foundation impact updates. Message and data rates may apply to SMS, depending on your carrier and plan. You can manage notification preferences in your settings and on your device.
- How Information Is Shared — We share information with service providers who help us run the Platform, such as hosting, storage, payment processing, email and SMS delivery, and analytics. We share limited information with providers whose courses you purchase or with a partner you link. Community posts are visible to members of that community, and content you make public may be seen by others. We may share information to comply with the law, protect safety and rights, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information.
- Providers and the Marketplace — Certified providers offer courses through our marketplace. When you access a provider’s course, limited information is shared to deliver it and support reviews. Providers are independent professionals, and their courses are educational. Providers are responsible for the content and accuracy of their courses, and engaging a provider does not create a medical relationship with Wild Womb.
- Your Choices and Controls — You control much of what Wild Womb collects. You can edit your profile and identity details, manage privacy settings and partner data sharing, control community visibility and notifications, download your data, clear your search history, and delete your account. Screenshot protection is always on and cannot be turned off, to protect everyone in our private spaces.
- Your Privacy Rights — Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to limit certain uses. Because Wild Womb handles sensitive information, we treat it with care and in line with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR and CCPA where they apply. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We do not sell your personal information.
- Data Retention — We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform and meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations. Some records, such as transaction history, may be kept longer where required. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
- Account and Data Deletion — You can delete your account at any time from your settings. Before your deletion is final, we may offer you a one-time option to preserve your memories in a physical or digital book, which you can decline. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information, except content shared in communities or with a linked partner that others may still rely on, and information we must keep for legal reasons.
- Children’s Privacy — The Platform is intended for adults aged 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Information you record about your baby or child is content you choose to share and manage as a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us.
- International Users — Wild Womb may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the Platform, you understand your information may be transferred to countries with different data protection laws, and we take steps to protect it as described here.
- Changes to This Policy — We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Platform and update the effective date below. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the update.
